Moe's Valley Comp & Trail Building Event

Saturday morning I woke up bright and early with expectations of going on a dinosaur field trip with Casey's geology class. Little did I know what the day had in store for us!
The trip was cancelled due to bad weather, so we were free to go south for the Moe's Valley Competition and Trail Building Event hosted by Desert Rat Productions. In an effort to preserve the area, the day started off with cleaning and building trails leading to the different bouldering areas. After some lunch the comp began. They gave everyone a card with 10 spaces to fill in boulder problems and a place to mark how many times it took you to send it (up to 5). They divided us into different divisions after they got the score cards at the end of the day. They didn't say how they chose to divide it up or how they ended up scoring it.... but it was a fun day of climbing! And most importantly
congratulations to Casey for winning!!! He took first place in the advanced division and won a new pair of 5.10 climbing shoes of his choice.
Also,
congratulations to Zach for taking second place!! He got a sweet new hangboard (just like mine I got for Christmas...it's cool).
And...
congratulations to Kestri for taking first place in the beginners division!! She also got a very cool new hangboard!
Way to represent Cedar Crew!!!!

Spring Break Part I

Sunny skies and warm weather made for a perfect spring break! Casey and I made our way to Salt Lake for the week and were met by great climbing temperatures at Little Cottonwood. We had a fun, successful time despite the fact that it was muddy and soaking wet everywhere. I loved the chance to take off jackets and beanies and soak up the sun!
Tuesday Casey sent Barfly V8 on his first go!
I sent Standard Overhang, a very fun, very cool V3!
Bridget and I worked on Double Dyno. Fun! but no send yet.
Kestri tore it up on the All Thumbs boulder!

And Bryce is strong!
