a few more from the Turtle Wall

Here are a few more pictures from our Easter weekend at Turtle Wall. It was especially fun because my family came and we had Ashley and Parker there as well. I even convinced my dad to try climbing a little!

Since then we have gone back one time and I redpointed Director of Human Affairs. My first 11! Casey worked the 5.13a and did it in two hangs! It will be fun to watch him redpoint it soon!

Easter Break at the Turtle Wall

Here are a few pictures from our day at Turtle Wall on Friday. We love the beautiful St. George weather!!! It was a successful day for everyone! Matt flashed Dancing Fox, Director of Human Affairs, Lambada, and Banana Dance. Casey flashed Lambada and Dancing Fox, and started working The Actual Parchments. He quickly pieced it together. It will go down next time! Page also had an eventful day flashing Director of Human Affairs and Banana Dance, and redpointing Dancing Fox. Andy flashed Director of Human Affairs and almost flashed Lambada in his tennis shoes with a sprained ankle! Greg redpointed Pinching Bird "Poop." :) I didn't actually redpoint anything, but I'm still satisfied with the progress I made and will get Director of Human Affairs next time and Banana Dance soon. I will post the rest of the pictures when I get a free day again. It might not be until the semester ends in a couple of weeks but I will try!

Spring Break Part II

This post is long overdue, but here it is nonetheless!
We spent our final day of spring break at the majestic and desolate land of Ibex. It was the most perfect day I have ever experienced there! The weather was perfect and we had a great day of climbing. Casey sent Tranced Out and Dreamin v6 on his 2nd go and I did the v3 stand start. He also sent Topus Left v6, Agua Nile low v7, and J v7. I sent a few other fun problems as well, just can't remember what they're called.

Can't wait to go again!

Moe's Valley Comp & Trail Building Event

Saturday morning I woke up bright and early with expectations of going on a dinosaur field trip with Casey's geology class. Little did I know what the day had in store for us!
The trip was cancelled due to bad weather, so we were free to go south for the Moe's Valley Competition and Trail Building Event hosted by Desert Rat Productions. In an effort to preserve the area, the day started off with cleaning and building trails leading to the different bouldering areas. After some lunch the comp began. They gave everyone a card with 10 spaces to fill in boulder problems and a place to mark how many times it took you to send it (up to 5). They divided us into different divisions after they got the score cards at the end of the day. They didn't say how they chose to divide it up or how they ended up scoring it.... but it was a fun day of climbing! And most importantly
congratulations to Casey for winning!!! He took first place in the advanced division and won a new pair of 5.10 climbing shoes of his choice.
Also,
congratulations to Zach for taking second place!! He got a sweet new hangboard (just like mine I got for Christmas...it's cool).
And...
congratulations to Kestri for taking first place in the beginners division!! She also got a very cool new hangboard!
Way to represent Cedar Crew!!!!

Spring Break Part I

Sunny skies and warm weather made for a perfect spring break! Casey and I made our way to Salt Lake for the week and were met by great climbing temperatures at Little Cottonwood. We had a fun, successful time despite the fact that it was muddy and soaking wet everywhere. I loved the chance to take off jackets and beanies and soak up the sun!
Tuesday Casey sent Barfly V8 on his first go!
I sent Standard Overhang, a very fun, very cool V3!
Bridget and I worked on Double Dyno. Fun! but no send yet.
Kestri tore it up on the All Thumbs boulder!

And Bryce is strong!
