Bunker Creek Video

We finally put together a video of some of our Bunker Creek footage!!
After being inspired by the awesome climbs featured in this video, you should go there and check it out for yourself! Every climb in this video is at least a 2 star classic. Might be a little chilly this time of year, but come April you are in for a treat.

Bunker

Before this heat wave hit us, we were able to put in quite a few good sessions at Bunker Creek sending old projects, discovering new lines, and having a great time!
Casey and the Seths started working on this project on one of the Roadside boulders. There is a previously established problem, the Bookie V6, that exits to the right.
This huge boulder in the Springfield area has two bolted routes on it. It is kind of tall...but Casey and Tommy knew it was definitely boulder-able (new word?!) with a little work on the landing. They started working on the landing last Fall and then the Seth's helped finish it this spring. Now there is an awesome landing under the boulder problem Yo Mama's Boyfriend. I think they decided it's about V6/7.

Casey has been working on putting together a video with all of our Bunker Creek footage. We are waiting for good temps for just a few more sends and then it should be ready. I have been excited to see it come together! Hopefully we'll be ready for the premier soon!

Summer!

Summer is here and with it came the hot temps of Southern Utah. Since bouldering has reached the point of sweaty finger frustration here, we have been making our transition to sport climbing. It's always an adjustment for us since we tend to stick with bouldering throughout the winter, but this year it has been going really well and we are psyched!!
Crawdad Canyon is a fun Spring crag with lots of nice short climbs to help us mentally get in the game!

 We love Parker!

 Dirt is so fun! :)

Of course we're going to throw in a few bouldering sessions at Bunker Creek!

Casey and Seth have been tearing it up at the Principality!

We joined Louise at Soul Asylum for a fun session!

No pictures of me on our camera but believe it or not I have been tying myself in for some climbs. I did my 12b project in one hang and I can't wait to try it again!

Casey and I made ourselves some checklists to stay on track for our sport climbing goals! :)

Around Town

Casey started a job with an archeological surveying company, and I'm busy teaching again, so we've been spending most of our spare time bouldering at local areas. We are very content and having a blast at some new areas around the Wash and at Bunker Creek.
Here are a few pictures from a day at the Springfield Area, Bunker Creek with Jens and Vonae.

And here are a few from a new area we're checking out, the Sarsen Blocks, just past the wash.

This weekend we went back to the Springfield Area with Casey's family. Love this place!

Fall is in the air!! Favorite time of the year!!

The best news of the week is that we finally have 4 wheel drive and high clearance! Our new Jeep Liberty!

Bouldering at Bunker

Our summer has been incredible!! We have lots of catching up to do. In the meantime, here are some pictures from Bunker Creek, our favorite local bouldering area lately. It's beautiful and there is a lot of potential for development still. During our "week off" of vacation (we have the life!) we spent a few evenings at the Meadows and the Springfield area. Summer bouldering can be tricky anywhere, but we've had fun and managed to snag a few sends despite the hot temps.

I can't ever resist a picture of a wildflower. We live in a beautiful world!

Casey climbing a cool v5 we found at the Meadows

A v3 on the right side of the same boulder. It has a nice vertical face with quality, pocketed problems! We were happy to find it!

Casey on Steel Cage Death Match v11 at the Springfield area.

Cameron climbing Batman. A great v2 also at Springfield.

Casey's project, a low start to Flaming Mo.

Cameron working Abu. A fun V3 on the boulder facing Flaming Mo.

Johnno making his way up a tall slab.

We've started cleaning some new lines to further develop the area.
This is Johnno on a cool looking new line!

As sad as it is to see our road trip end, we are excited to get back to finish up some old and begin working on some new lines at Bunker Creek and the surrounding areas.

Brimmy!!

A little while ago our wonderful friends, Brimmy (aka Bridget and Tommy) came to visit/climb.  It was an epic weekend covering all the local Cedar bouldering areas.  On Friday night we climbed Flannigan until we were basically sleep-climbing zombies.  Then on Saturday we climbed at Bunker Creek and then the Wash until we no longer had fingertips, of course we continued to climb on bloody nubs until it was time for dinner. Unfortunately, we slacked on the photography.  We managed just these few pictures of the Meadows at Bunker Creek.
